Kira O'Reilly employs performance to consider the gendered body a a site in which narratives of personal, sexual, social & political knot and unknot in shifting permutations. Direct interventions into the materiality or fabric of the body explore relationships between interior/exterior spaces as a continuum defying membrane as an impenetrable container of a coherent fixed 'self'.

O'Reilly graduated from Cardiff school of Art in 1998 since then she has performed throughout the UK and Europe. She has received a number of major commissions and was invited to produce work for Span2 international performance art residency in London 2001.
