Jessica Buege’s performance/installations have been widely exhibited in the United States and Europe. Based in Los Angeles and New York, Buege uses her body to negotiate objective territory utilising the concept of labour and the vocabulary of bondage/escape to create ritual actions or mortifications.

In "trash"Buege investigates the idea of the monument, using monument as tomb, historic marker and as metaphor for structures of belief which resist change. In addition, Buege weaves in “trash” images of insufficient connection and suture, expressing the pathetic melancholy related to loss and death.
