Jamie McMurry has been presenting original performance works throughout North America and Europe since 1990. In addition, McMurry presents works of international performance and installation artists through large scale contemporary arts events in his home town Seattle. he relocated to Los Angeles in 2001 and will be producing two major performance arts festival in LA during 2002.

McMurry states the following about his work at Trace:

"The immediacy of the activity - The compulsion that states without statement - The range and power of the action - Performance reluctantly declares itself alone by choice and Proudly declares itself family, unintentionally"

[1] timed actions begin, each one becomes progressively longer than it’s predecessor and then shorter.

[2] we are surrounded by traces and our bodies are covered in remnants

[3] our deteriorating world tells of a history, our scars tell of personal triumphs and tragedies

[4] the battle to overcome those pasts and control the unknown road ahead

[5] CREATING TRACES FOR A FUTURE THAT HAS YET TO EXIST
